Can't u people think twice before u do something???

I just can't understand why sometimes people forwarding e-mails without thinking twice? Without bothering the truthfulness of the subject matter? Without considering the consequences of it? Particularly those forwarding mails concerning political issues, or any issue attempting to defame someone or even an organisation...

This morning received an email claiming that someone's sister has been cheated and raped by a guy from a college. Of course those who read and forwarded this message knew which college that this "someone" has mentioned. But somehow I feel it's SO irresponsible to keep on bringing people's attention to the college which the so called "defendant" was studying, as if ALL student from the same college is equally bad. Yeah I remember what Mr. Lok taught us. Defamation = lowering down people's opinion towards someone with malice. Instead of keep on highlighting the college name, asking people to beware of it, why not to make his complaint or taking any legal action or whatsoever towards the wrongdoer? I wonder...And one more thing, is it really true concerning the content of the message? We can't know right? Even if it's really true, even if he is just trying to "remind" us, but it somehow affects the reputation of the college to some extent rite? And those recipients just forward it, just keep on forward and forward it...lol

Instead, it is better to teach our sister, remind our girlfriends, not to be so naive, not to simply follow anyone to anywhere, not to believe people so easily. Isn't it more relevant and more realistic?

should there be a better way to "defame" that guy?
i feel like d sender is defaming the college more than what it intends to be...
