Students' main concern are always the tips of the exams
And this is the very LAST exams for my entire college life
Don't mind being a little bit more "kiasu".
Not to spot the questions as I mentioned that I'm risk adverse.
But I always conclude and summarise the pass year questions
before I further study for a particular subject after 1st round studying.
And it was my habit since secondary time.
Secondary school time was the most "kiasu" time for SOME of us
where we attend TUITIONS
(which is an extincted word for college student and
also a quite RIDICULOUS act to do so
when you pay for college tuition fees and yet attending tuition).
Those tutors in TUITION classes were so expert
in spotting and analysing possible exam questions.
Clarifications:
~Spotting questions is DIFFERENT with analysing questions.~
One will ONLY study the questions that he has spotted
and ignore the others.
BUT,
Analysing pass years is just to value-add your studies
by looking at the trend of pass years
to highlight the important areas which are likely to
guide your studies during the exam
ESPECIALLY
when you are so FRUSTRATED at the midst of revising.
ie. some sort like a user manual or a map
whenever one is stressed and lost the aim and directions.
Enough said.
These are what EVERYONE CAN DO.
Summarise the questions asked for the past
and you will get a rough idea of
what are important.
(anyone who is too lazy to do so can click the following for larger image : p)
From the trend
Corporate Restructuring and Cost of Capital
WERE the chapter which frequently being asked.
Then Chapter 2 and Chapter 6.
Then Portfolio and FOREX.
However, these are just PAST trend.
Unless anyone can HEDGE the risk of spotting question
we couldn't escape from any chapter.
Anyone can tell which chapter is MORE IMPORTANT despite that
there are noticeable trend where:
C1 usually related with C2
C3 sometimes connected with C4
C6 always come together with C6 or C7
and C9 always appear with C8 and C10.
And eventhough C11 and C12 seem like not frequently being asked
but we can just easily FAIL or DEGRADE by one grade
IF any parts of these chapters come out with 5 marks
(and so "ngam" that the 5 marks are needed to pass or get higher grade)
WHo knows, rite?
At last, what can we do? Just
TRY OUR BEST
and study all if possible
and put more attention to those areas which we think is important.
and....the condition become worse for CG...
